Evolution of Plum

So my oldest daughter Phoebe Plum is turning 5 in four days. These photos was taken 3 consecutive years. Time flies and she will be going to preschool as well.

DIY Animal Key Holder

I love these sets of animal "head and butt" hooks.

Originally I was going for a violet/silver paint color, but the people that I was making presents for are older--in their 30's and 50's. So I thought it would be better to try a gold and black design.

I butchered my plastic toy animals--Not a nice sight for two toddlers--cutting the toy heads right in front of my girls. I probably looked like an animal-hater (I'm not).

I did some hammering but ended up using screws instead of nails.

Next I gift wrapped the elephant and rhino hooks for my husband's parents and grandparents.

To finish it off, I used super glue because the glue gun was not working properly.
This elephant head project looked better in my apartment so I ended up keeping it.

Of course I added to it by finding a piece of weathered wood, which gave the piece more character.

The wood I used is better than the Michaels wooden plate. I placed some gold hooks on the piece of wood to turn them into key holders. (Hooks not pictured) The bottom photo is my favorite. I wrapped it as a Birthday/Christmas gift for my Dad.

My Adventure to the World of Minecraft

I know I haven't posted much, lately, but please don't give up on me! It's been a perfect day, and I think I'm getting my momentum back.

Phoebe has been asking for a Minecraft toy since last month. The reason why I had not bought her anything is because I wanted to make a Minecraft themed pillow instead of buying one.

When transforming the pillow form, the sizes of each side should all be the same in order to make the block head of the creeper.

I wanted to take more time with the face and use a quality fabric. Except, I ran out of time because I started this on Christmas day and was forced to rush the project. Basically, I ended up with an unconventional look.

The dimensions were the hardest part while making the pillow. You have to make sure you are not overlapping the sides, and they have to be well proportion in every angle, or they will end up being uneven.

After sewing each piece, I had to leave the bottom part open to put in the stuffing. Then I closed it with a smooth sew finish.

The plan was to make her a stuffed friend that could be hugged every night. As I stuffed the pillow, it began to look more like a bean bag, yet at the end I still loved the finished product. My girl loves it as well.

Here is Phoebe after opening her Christmas present.

Afterwards, she played her favorite game--Minecraft, of course!

Mad Hatter Topper

       Happy Birthday Shaun!

We didn't do much today because of all the packing due to the state of moving in another place so I am posting a set of photos from last year.

A Week in Halloween Town

I didn't do that many decorations this year because for the first time, we made plans to trick or treat in our neighborhood. I know I'm supposed to post this around Halloween but I didn't have any time to blog. I am a very busy woman and it has also been a tough couple of months for me.

We went to the Pumpkin patch this year and Phoebe helped me pick out the perfect pumpkin.
Phoebe dressed up as a princess and Holly as a leopard.

The next day Phoebe requested to be a Zombie princess. Holly had no idea what she was dressed up for, as I decided to make her a Voodoo baby.

After breakfast on Halloween morning, they asked me to put on their princesses outfits and watch Sofia the First.

...October 31st on Halloween evening

Holly and Phoebe's official costumes of Halloween. Holly as the Tin Man and Phoebe as Cruella Deville.

Their cousin Garrett also joined them that very afternoon before trick or treats.

Garrett as a cute little Elmo.

Their very first time trick or treating and they are already looking forward to next year's Halloween. Our candy lasted only for a couple of days. They asked for more, constantly--after every meal.
