Black Freight

Back when I was a child, I never got to wear a costume during Halloween. This was mainly because my grandparents did not celebrate Halloween.

When my eldest daughter was born I wanted her to go trick or treating on Halloween night. Unfortunately I got sick that day and had to postpone it for the year...

Last year, I finally had my Halloween party and made costumes for my two daughters. My husband and I dressed up that year also.

Here is the sketched of my girls' outfits and how I transformed them into costumes.

In this photo is my Halloween part decorations.

I had this brilliant idea of how the party would look like and how I would manage to put make up on Phoebe.
(Of course the make up only lasted for an hour, but I got to take a photo of her before it got smudged all over her face.)

Holly on the other hand had an amazing hat, but she kept taking it off, I only got a few photos of her because she wouldn't stay still.

We wouldn't have had this amazing photo if it weren't for my grandfather-in-law Melchizedek.

All in all it was a successful Halloween evening.

(Everyone was hungry.)

Lincoln Avenue

Lincoln Avenue

Our old studio apartment. I will always love and miss this place.

Living here feels like living in New York. We had the best view of  Old town Salinas and the place was very close to the library.

Plus they had a Victorian touch reminiscent of the 1930's.

Here's what my décor used to look like in the mini foyer connecting the living room, as well as our closet/computer room.

Some of the photos had poor resolution. Back then, I didn't have a great camera. I relied on my cheap camera phone. I wished I had taken better quality photos of my studio.

Sad to say, but we had to move to a bigger apartment.

Barbie's Kitchen

I'm so happy that I accomplished something the other night. I've been wanting to blog but I never had the chance to do it. Must have been that amazing photo I took the other day that inspired me. This is my third blog and I will show you how I made Phoebe's Barbie kitchen made out of a cardboard box.

Here are the materials I have gathered to create this amazing kitchen, plus the Barbie furniture that I had found in the flea market in Roseville, Ca.

                                                             In progress...

I also used the drawer cover to cover the box.

                                                               The finished product.

Isn't it great? I got another masterpiece and a happy daughter!

Breakfast at Village Green

My eldest daughter Phoebe woke up early this morning and asked me if they can have pancakes for breakfast. I couldn't get up but she basically screamed for pancakes in my ears! So I decided, why not colorful pancakes.

First I made a purple batch of pancake batter..

Then next a pink one to match the color. I also decided since it is Sunday why not take out my china.

My plate with my cute Bailey cup.

...and of course my husband's plate.

So the whole family sat down and had our breakfast together.

  We had a happy Sunday!
